The Torrent Blender Blogger Challenge: Mix it Up This Holiday Season

Have a health nut or creative home chef on your holiday shopping list? The new KitchenAid® Torrent™ Blender will make you everyone’s favourite gift giver. The Torrent™ isn’t just any other blender – it’s the first front-loading blender with Magnetic Drive Technology. Using magnets to lock the pitcher in place, home cooks can easily slide the jar in and out – just like a coffee maker. With four pre-programmed, hands-free settings for everything from icy drinks and smoothies to soups and sauces, it’s the perfect gift for a passionate home chef.
To celebrate the launch of this state-of-the-art appliance, KitchenAid Canada challenged bloggers from across the country to use the new Torrent blender in a unique way. Tackling everything from delicious dips, to seasonal smoothies to homemade baby food, each blogger stepped up to the plate to showcase their culinary creativity. Here are just a few examples of the inspiring techniques and recipes they shared. How will you use your new KitchenAid® Torrent™ Blender?
Fit for a Baby
New mom Kelly Brisson of The Gouda Life gave the Torrent™ a whirl to make Strawberry Mango Spinach and Oat Baby Food. “With jet-engine like power, it turns even the toughest chunks into silk,” said Kelly in her review post. “When making baby food, I prepared my fine-mesh sieve over a bowl to strain out any skins or extra bits that didn’t get blended (which is common with my usual blender) but as I pressed the mixture through the sieve I was surprised to find that there was really nothing left in there.” Dependable and easy-to-use, the Torrent is the perfect holiday gift for a new parent. Smooth Operator
Smoothie season doesn’t have to be over. Ashley Fehr of the Recipe Rebel shares a sweet, tangy and creamy treat you can enjoy year round. Incorporating fresh cranberries, this recipe is perfect for the holiday season. “The blender automatically adjusts its speed to whatever you’re blending, even throughout the blending process, which is pretty neat to see. It powers through frozen fruit quickly and easily,” said Ashley. Hosting a Boxing-Day brunch? Guests will swoon over this simple yet delicious smoothie. Get the recipe here.
Appealing Appetizers
Entertaining this holiday season? The Torrent™ Blender will be your new best friend. Christelle Tanielian of Christelle is Flabbergasting shares not one, but two, creative appetizer dishes using her new KitchenAid blender. For the Corn, Feta and Cream Cheese dip, Christelle suggests serving it “drizzled with olive oil and sprinkled with crumbled feta, chopped cilantro and green onions.” This recipe is perfectly paired with tortilla chips or pita bread. Want to add a punch of festive green to your holiday spread? Opt for Christelle’s Edamame, Kale and Cashew dip instead.
