The Fourth Big Summer Potluck

The Big Summer Potluck is an intimate affair, one in which bloggers, writers, and photographers, all of whom share a special connection to food, can mingle. It’s less about networking and more a way for individuals to meet, build a relationship (outside of our online interactions) and, in many instances, learn from one another.
And this year our hosts, Pam and Maggy of Three Many Cooks and Erika of Ivory Hut, really outdid themselves. From the venue to the speakers to the food… it was all perfect.
Of course, an event like this can’t occur without sponsors and KitchenAid had a huge presence at the 4th Big Summer Potluck.
On Friday night, cocktails were served in the entertainment area where guests could choose from a variety of options stocked in the KitchenAid® Beverage Center.”
There was also a giveaway of some beautiful Stand Mixers, Pro Line® Series Toasters and more.
A glorious breakfast was served Saturday morning which included yogurt, cereal and platter upon platter of pastries. Fresh fruit was creatively displayed in colorful stand mixers which added to the delicious experience.
There were some incredible speakers at this year’s BSP, including Jeni of Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams, cookbook author Joe Yonan of The Washington Post, and Jessamyn Rodriguez of Hot Bread Kitchen. There was also a fabulous tutorial on how to make homemade corn tortillas.
And who could forget cookbook author Abby Dodge’s wonderful shortbread demo? She loves her stand mixer so much that she gave it a big kiss.
Before dinner, the whole gang went outside for cocktails. It was a great way to decompress after a day of thoughtful discussions.
Sunday was a time for everyone to relax and grab some grub. An avocado toast bar was set up and everyone marveled at the design and performance of the Pro Line® Series Toaster.
While it was sad to say goodbye to everyone, we know that next year’s Big Summer Potluck will be just as fabulous.
