KitchenAid Cook for the Cure Culinary Showdown
So, you love watching reality cooking competitions and you make the best tomato sauce in your family… Do you think you have what it takes to compete among Canada’s best chefs?
Fundraise your way to the second annual Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation KitchenAid Cook for the Cure Culinary Showdown where you can not only meet Canada’s top professional chefs but train alongside them and compete as part of their team. Following last year’s success, culinary enthusiasts and food lovers from across the country will have the opportunity to learn new skills and techniques all while fundraising for a great cause.
Taking place on Saturday November 29, 2014 at the Allstream Centre, chefs Lynn Crawford, Mark McEwan, Vikram Vij, Susur Lee, Corbin Tomaszeski and their teams consisting of the top 50 fundraisers will compete in hopes of winning this year’s Culinary Showdown.
Fundraise $2,500: Compete in the Culinary Showdown and attend the Celebrity Chefs’ School during the day.
To start of the day, participants will attend Celebrity Chefs’ School from 10:30am until 3:00pm where the celebrity chefs will teach their favourite techniques and share trade secrets on everything from knife skills to must-have ingredients to include. Everyone will get to use a wide range of KitchenAid appliances and learn tips and tricks on how to get the best results every time. Then it’s show time! Each team is challenged to create three unique, delicious dishes and show off the new skills they’ve learned earlier in the day.
The Top 50 Fundraisers not only receive the Culinary Showdown experience, they also receive a branded apron, chef’s hat and a special gift courtesy of KitchenAid.
Also, if you raise over $5,000, you can bring one guest with you to the event and activities.
Fundraise $1,000: Attend the Culinary Showdown and Cocktail Reception
The showdown begins at 6pm where the audience will attend the cocktail reception where they can nab a photo-op with the celebrity chefs. A fantastic three-course gourmet meal will be served during the competition and guests will be able to win prizes as well as participate in the silent and live auctions.
Additionally if you fundraise:
Fundraise $500 – $999:
You will receive an autographed cookbook from a celebrity chef.
Fundraise $250 – $499:
You will receive a signed Culinary Showdown apron.
Please note there is a registration fee of $75 and the fundraising deadline is 4pm on November 28th, 2014.
