DETOX SMOOTHIES

I don’t know about you, but I’m in desperate need of at least 4 weeks of solid smoothie and juice consumption after this holiday. My mom makes over 2,000 holiday cookies and enough pot roast, ham, mashed potatoes, artichoke dip and other delectable hors d’oeuvres to feed a small army. And what kind of daughter would I be if I didn’t enjoy every last morsel?
As much as I love the holiday season and eating my way through it, I have to say my pants don’t. I’ve had to resort to wearing leggings everyday because my regular jeans feel like a sausage casing on me. In order to get back into those with ease (and no need for hardware), I’m going on a total detox smoothie cleanse these next few weeks.
Juices and smoothies aren’t typically great meal replacements because they never have enough fiber or protein to keep me full. However, these are an exception because one of these luscious juices will keep you full for at least 3 to 4 hours. Especially since they are loaded with healthy antioxidants, fiber packed ingredients like chia seeds and flax, as well as enough vegetables and fruit to detox you until the next holiday season.
And they are so easy to make in your KitchenAid® Juicer and Sauce Attachment for your Stand Mixer. In less than 10 minutes, you’ll have smoothies that taste great and are perfect for those morning commutes!
But the best part? They don’t taste as healthy as they are. Thanks to the addition of natural honey and homemade nut butters, every sip is simply delicious. Fitting into those skinny jeans post-holiday has never been so yummy.
